Marmaille, a festival for tiny tots
In autumn, throughout Ille-et-Vilaine
In autumn, toddlers aged one and upwards are invited to the Marmaille festival, with a hundred events taking place throughout Ille-et-Vilaine.
This event, organised by Théâtre Lillico during the autumn of every year, is a cultural treat for children aged one and over. Taking place in Rennes and other locations in Ille-et-Vilaine, 2012’s programme promises plenty of high spots to mark the event’s 20th anniversary. Marmaille showcases local theatre groups and brings you top class performances in a mixture of styles, from experimental to all-time classic: puppet shows, clowns, storytelling, dance and song. Although the program suggests that events are scheduled with a specific age group in mind, all age groups are equally welcome. Throughout the duration of the festival you will have a chance to visit magical places like La Chuchoterie (The Whispering Gallery), where you can ‘devour’ books, La Berceuse (Rock-A-Bye-Baby), where you can listen to soothing lullabies, and La Guinguette des Marmots (Kiddies Cafe) where you can take time out for a snack.
